update 1.3.7
I skipped a version! 1.3.6 was actually used as an experiment, i learned how to finally package the game as an executable with electron. Probably won't bother posting an exe until i've A) gotten enough of the game ready to be worthwhile, and B) can make sure it's working as intended. I'm playing with the idea of making sure it can be an "offline" game, but since all the assets are accessed via CDN that's going to be a big change to make. I don't think it will go poorly, but it will take a bit of time to figure out how to do.
Anyways, 1.3.7 actually has loads of updates. Most notably, combat and entity behavior has been overhauled quite a bit. Entities can actually harm you, and some even have damage types - like "Sharp" damage which can inflict a bleed effect! In addition to this, proper "attack" states are included in enemies, separating the "chase" function into a state of it's own. Predators will now attack prey instead of immediately switching to "eat" to kill them. Furthermore, when entities die, they don't get removed right away - they will linger for a time.
You now have "invulnerability" periods during certain contexts to account for the lethal entities, right after being attacked, and while rolling! don't roll too much though, because stamina now contributes to hunger drain. Running, jumping, and rolling all will contribute to your calorie depletion, so you'll want to make sure to collect and cook plenty of food! Because if you run out of calories, you'll start to starve to death, at which point... well, nothing will happen, since i haven't gotten to that part yet, but you'll probably regret it later!
